The robust economic performance of the Mexican industrial sector has led to increased demand for natural gas in the country. However, domestic production is insufficient to meet the country’s fuel needs. In response to this shortfall, the Ministry of Energy published the Five-Year Plan for the Expansion of the National Integrated Natural Gas Transportation and Storage System 2015-2019. This Plan is reviewed annually in order to provide accuracy and certainty to investors. The Plan also acts as a vehicle whose purpose is to expand coverage by providing systemic benefits in terms of improvements in safety conditions, continuity, quality and efficiency in the delivery of natural gas transportation and storage services.
