Alonso Gómez del Campo is Principal at Rodríguez Dávalos Abogados. His field of expertise is consulting on corporate, energy, regulatory and financial matters. His areas of focus are transnational financing involving project funding, project financing, bond issues of national and international debt, bilateral or syndicated loans, financial leasing, among others.
He has served as a consultant on various bidding processes carried out by the Federal Electricity Commission (Comisión Federal de Electricidad or CFE) and Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX). He has drawn up and negotiated trade agreements of commodities and its collaterals in accordance with Mexican Regulations. He has also advised major electricity companies regarding loan facilities for the development of projects within the Mexican territory.
During his prior experience he was a consultant in the Corporate Division of Finance at Petróleos Mexicanos, in which he actively participated in various financing projects including, among others, loan facilities guaranteed by the major Export Credit agencies including the Exim Bond (the first bond issuance issued by a non-aircraft company) guaranteed by the Exim Bank of the United States of America), the issuance of international debt bonds under the 144A format, financial leasing of platforms, land drilling equipment and tankers, bilateral and syndicated loans, as well as financing of strategic gas transmission systems through the Project Finance scheme including the Ramones Project. Additionally he negotiated with the Export Import Bank of the United States the amount of the guaranties to be provided every fiscal year for the Petróleos Mexicanos financing program.
He received a Master's Degree in Law at Northwestern University in the USA. He earned his Law Degree from the Universidad Panamericana. He has also studied at McGill University.
