Esteban Sánchez is a Senior Associate at Rodríguez Dávalos Abogados. He specializes in consulting on legal matters regarding energy and his areas of focus are the implementation of hydrocarbons (upstream, midstream and downstream) and electric power projects. He has extensive knowledge of the special tax regime applicable to the exploration and extraction of hydrocarbons in Mexico. Esteban has served as a consultant to various companies during the Rounds held by the National Hydrocarbons Commission, as well as for the Long Term Electric Power Auctions issued by the National Energy Control Center; he participated in the negotiation and execution of the first integral exploration and extraction services contract for the development of nonconventional fields in Mexico, as well as in the design of the regulatory strategy for the first private refined products production plant in Mexico. Additionally, he has participated in procuring financing for the Los Ramones Fase II, North and South pipeline, and for renewable energy generation projects with an installed capacity of 70 MW.
During his prior experience he was an intern at the law firm of Creel, García-Cuéllar, Aiza Y Enriquez, S.C. and he conducted professional practice at the Mexican Stock Exchange.
Esteban received his Law Degree and a Degree in Public Accounting at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), graduating with honorable mention in both degrees.
